Plan Description
Dramatic Design, Inside & Out
Some house designs just seem to flow from pencil to paper without any hindrance. That’s what happened with this plan. Both the exterior and the interior are equally dramatic. The floor plan complements the appealing nature of the exterior. When you walk into the foyer you immediately notice the vaulted ceiling and the half wall of the study above. The study is open to both the foyer and kitchen below. It also provides natural light and a nice view to the outside as its two windows penetrate the main roof. Drama continues on the main floor as you walk under a catwalk into the vaulted great room. The stairway with a unique, curved handrail continues to the second floor (see illustration). We like to include skylights whenever possible to make our plans feel open and airy. The skylights in the great room accomplish this goal beautifully. Looking at the illustration, you notice the views into kitchen/breakfast area beyond. The open arrangement between the kitchen/breakfast areas and the great room makes any gathering more enjoyable.What's Included?

Fireplace Details If the home you have chosen includes a fireplace, the fireplace detail will show typical methods to construct the firebox, hearth and flue chase for masonry units, or a wood frame chase for a zero-clearance unit. Available for most plans.
Foundation Plan These plans will accurately dimension the footprint of your home including load bearing points and beam placement if applicable. The foundation style will vary from plan to plan.
Roof Plan The information necessary to construct the roof will be included with your home plans. Some plans will reference roof trusses, while many others contain schematic framing plans. These framing plans will indicate the lumber sizes necessary for the rafters and ridgeboards based on the designated roof loads.
Typical Cross Section A cut-away cross-section through the entire home shows your building contractor the exact correlation of construction components at all levels of the house.
