Craftsman Tudor Home Plan

With decorated gables and timber framing motif on the garage doors, home plan 50235 displays elements of Tudor Craftsman architecture. Living space comes to 2961 square feet, and a generous three bay garage adds 704 square feet, providing storage for everything from sports gear and lawn equipment to ATVs and sports cars. We can imagine many locations for a home like this- both urban and rural, but one great choice is rugged mountain terrain. Back up the house to a great view because a covered porch with a two story ceiling measuring 18’8″x8’11” extends from the great room. Additionally, this covered porch is flanked by a screen porch on one side for shade and bug protection and a deck and pergola on the other. The screened porch is equipped with a handsome outdoor stone fireplace and a staircase to the side yard, making it easy to cook out and carry the hamburgers down to a game of family football. Get some sun on the deck or plant climbing vines on the pergola for some dappled sunlight and sweet smelling flowers. Built on a hillside with walk-out basement, the home pictured shows outdoor seating under the porches and a wonderful opportunity to create a recreational room in the basement.

Everything about this house is bountiful. Take the great room for example: a two story ceiling makes for abundant windows and natural light. The wall color is light tan and the window frames dark wood, reminding us of the exterior of a tudor home- stucco with timber framing. Glass doors from the dining room look out to the screened porch, and the kitchen is outfitted with a large island with a black granite counter top in the center and a corner pantry. This room is connected to the garage by a laundry and mud room. To help you shed muddy boots, a bench greets you to the right as soon as you walk in the door from the garage.

On the main floor, we also have the master bedroom suite with double vanity in the bathroom and 11’x8′ walk-in closet. A powder room and coat room serve family members and guests. Upstairs, the landing gives you a lofty view down into the great room and adds a luxurious rustic flair with exposed ceiling beams. Two spacious bedrooms on the right share a bathroom with double sinks, and a larger room measuring 15’x15′ on the left, could function as a guest room with its own private bathroom.
