Traditional Farmhouse Plan

5.0.2
House Plan 76267

House Plan 76267 fits into many architectural categories including traditional, farmhouse and country. Traditional elements are accompanied by a wrapping country porch that invites you out for shade in the summer. On the second level is a balcony where you can get some sun, watch the sunset or look up at the stars. Flowers spill over the railings, adding romantic appeal to this home. At 2528 square feet of living space, your family could spend many peaceful summers here as a vacation home or live quite comfortably all year ’round.

Entry to this home can be made from the foyer, dining / kitchen, living room or garage which also adds to the safety of this design. Family members can exit from almost any room during an emergency. Inside, a curved staircase is stacked with the basement set, but you can bypass the stairs altogether by travelling on the central elevator (talk about indulgence)! The kids won’t be able to get enough of it, and you won’t have to haul laundry baskets up and down. Nine foot ceilings on the first level increase the feeling of volume in each room, and angled walls create a graceful flow for connecting spaces.

Pushed to the front of the layout, the kitchen affords a view of the front yard, and an open area serves as the dining room. A breakfast bar juts out from the kitchen counter to create extra seating. More functional rooms are found in the back- a spacious laundry room with ironing board and a powder room which serves the main floor. The two car garage doubles as a mud room, and you may want to set up a shelving system right outside the door to hold book bags and shoes. This plan offers plenty of room to keep everything organized for a large family.

Two gathering spaces are included in this plan. Living room furniture is gathered around the fireplace downstairs, and a sitting room upstairs could also function as a game room or be closed in for another bedroom. Three more kids’ bedrooms share a powder room, and the shower room is located across the hall. While this might seem unconventional, it could save time during the morning’s mad rush- while one is brushing his teeth, another can get a private shower, creating an efficient rotation. On the other side is the master bedroom with a walk through closet to a bathroom with shower, tub and double vanity.
