Pinterest is now one of the biggest social media sites, and it works perfectly for collecting and organizing ideas for your future house. Family Home Plans are being pinned to boards like “Dream Home,” “Exteriors and Floorplans” and “Future House Ideas.” Below are the three most popular house plans that have been repinned thousands of times by prospective new home owners.
House Plan 62207 has been pinned and repinned on Pinterest 8,814 times: see it here! With three doghouse dormers and a wraparound porch, this home displays welcoming country style and room for a big family at 2,173 square feet. The master suite and great room have a view of the front yard while three additional bedrooms bring up the rear. Much of the appeal in a farmhouse has to do with the kitchen, and this one can be imagined with antique cast iron barnyard animals perched on the cabinets and gingham curtains hanging over the windows in the adjacent dining room. Children and / or grandchildren can gather at the island for a breakfast of eggs and bacon or sprawl in rocking chairs on the grilling porch with tall glasses of lemonade. Create an office space in the bonus room upstairs or set up an air hockey table for fun.
House Plan 53499 has been repinned 6,087 times: see it here! A refreshing artfulness is achieved with the cupola over the garage, gable brackets, columns and
lovely arches over the front porch. The artist’s rendering shows a combination of shingle and metal for the roof and a shallow, vine covered trellis entrance for the garage. Included with the master suite is a sitting room with French doors to the patio, his and hers walk in closets, double sinks, shower, garden tub and private toilet. We also like the exit door from the guest bathroom leading out to the patio- this would be convenient if you add a pool in the backyard. Partitioning the formal living room from the dining room are elegantly spaced columns, and a family gathering room can be enjoyed on the opposite side of the kitchen. Two more bedrooms share a bathroom, and the study could be used as a fourth bedroom if desired. This home offers a total of 2,654 square feet of living space plus a 675 sq. ft. garage.
In third place is House Plan 87608 with 4,725 square feet of living space and 3,966 repins on Pinterest (see it here)! Proportioned like a farmhouse, this home features southern style luxury with Doric columns stationed along a wraparound porch. Much like a historic home, you are flanked by two rooms when you enter- living room on the left and a den on the right. Continue through the rotunda and enter the family room where guests can gather around the fire in winter. The kitchen is accompanied by a large breakfast room and includes a butler’s pantry in the passageway to the formal dining room. All four bedrooms are arranged in a semicircle around the loft, each smaller bedroom having a walk in closet and bathroom. Features of the master suite include a fireplace, his and hers closets, full bathroom and special ceiling treatment.
