Modern Mediterranean House Plan

With stucco walls, arched dormers and a clay tile roof, House Plan 42670 shows Mediterranean influence combined with modern features in the gray color and sharp angles. With 4,919 square feet of living space, the plan has 4 bedrooms, 4 full bathrooms, one half bath and plenty of space for all of your desired features. A paved terrace greets those who approach the house from its main entrance. The family will appreciate a mud room entry from the two side loading garages.

Layout of the interior flows gracefully into a tiled, two story foyer and reception area. A curved staircase with intricate iron railing draws your gaze up to an artful chandelier which was chosen by this homeowner. Modern white columns and the mottled gray paint scheme make for an elegant first impression.

Moving inside, we pass under a cathedral ceiling in the gallery and admire the Grecian fireplace, built-ins, special ceiling treatments, tall arched windows and French doors in the Great Room. Also from the gallery, you can walk up a shallow staircase to access the private study which features a built-in desk and tray ceiling. Here the walls are finished in a deep, rich wood, but plenty of windows and more French doors keep the room bright.

The kitchen is finished with white cabinetry, dark hardwood flooring and rustic ceiling beams. Instead of the usual connected cabinets and countertops, we have an island workspace with sink and a second island that functions as a breakfast bar. The angled, walk in pantry provides plenty of additional storage. Sharing the open kitchen space is a breakfast nook and a cozy sitting area.

Pass through to the screened porch which is outdoor living at its finest. This rectangular shaped porch is supported by hefty stone corner columns and a dark, beamed ceiling. Screen is stretched on the long sides of the porch with no need for columns, so you have a beautifully unobstructed view of the surroundings—without having to share your afternoon with pesky bugs. Overhead is a ceiling fan to keep cool in the summer, and the stone fireplace will be enjoyed in the winter months.

Upstairs, luxury awaits you in the master bathroom with white marble, a chandelier and a vintage tub. Two separate vanities are installed, and the lady’s area includes seating for makeup. A custom walk in closet is provided for “her,” and a smaller version is attached for “him.”

Three smaller bedrooms each have a walk in closet and private bathroom. Other rooms upstairs include an office and laundry room.
