New Craftsman House Plan for a Busy Family

New Craftsman House Plan for a Busy Family

Craftsman House Plan 58299 has a total of 2,971 SQ FT of living space with 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. Craftsman elements can be found in the decorative gable trim and in the mixture of materials. The roof is shingled, but we also have metal features over the garage doors and the porch. Stone and wood siding give the home a rustic edge.

The front porch has a vaulted ceiling as you approach the double doors, and the vault is carried through to the foyer. A dining room to the left has a beautiful coffered ceiling, and it opens directly to the kitchen.

The kitchen is open to the family room, so there is no interruption between cooking and entertaining. Guests and family will also enjoy the raised bar top on the island. The focal point of the family room is a stone fireplace which extends to the highest point of the beamed and vaulted ceiling. Occupying the far wall is a cabinet with room for books, special décor and electronics.

If outdoor living space is on your wish list, you won’t be disappointed with this design. Step from the breakfast room to the back covered terrace. The ceiling has an extension of the vault from the family room. You can screen in the porch and add an outdoor kitchen for premium enjoyment.

An extension of the porch leads to the master suite which has a special tray ceiling and the popular sliding bard door. The master bath is quite luxurious with a double vanity, tub, shower and private water closet. The walk in closet has a packing island and access to the utility room.

Busy families will appreciate the bench, drop zone and powder room that are located in the entry as you come in from the garage. Storage space for shoes, book bags and sports equipment is always a bonus. From here, we also have a staircase that leads up to the optional bonus room over the garage.

Bedroom 3 has a private bathroom with shower, and bedrooms 2 and 4 share a Jack and Jill bathroom. If you don’t need four full-time bedrooms, you can use bedroom 4 as an office or guest room.
