Q:Does the roof's ridge line over the garage "shoot upwards" as it appears to on the front elevation or is it parallel to the floor line or "flat" like the ridge lines over the main body of the home? Is there an alternative to the cone shaped roof line over the study such as a gable style that matches the other roof line gables? If so, what would it look like?
A:I think what you’re seeing is an illusion since the ridge line runs at a 45 degree to the rest of the house.
The roof over the study could be converted to a gable, yes.
