Previous Questions and Answers
Q:What is the width of the swinging door openings on interior and the one exterior swinging door (if different).
Then, what is the width of the hallways outside bedrooms?
What is the width of the walkway between the kitchen counter and island?
I really appreciate your assistance. We are trying to ascertain if we need to request modification or if we can just order as-is.
A:The exterior door is 3'-0" wide by 6'-8" tall. All the interior doors to bedrooms, bathrooms, and utility are 2'-6" wide by 6'-8" tall. The hallways are 3'-2" wide. The space between the kitchen island and the opposite countertop is 3'-6".
All the doors between the hallway and bedrooms 2, 3, and 4, and the bathrooms could be enlarged to 2'-8" in width without any change to the drawings, just by specification to the builder. And it would be possible to enlarge the doors to the master bedroom and the utility room to 2'-8" by making the jambs 3" instead of the 4" as shown. Doors to bedrooms and bathrooms that are 2'-8" in width will comply with universal design standards.

Q:What do the dotted lines with a solid black betwsquare een the kitchen and great room mean to indicate? Where are the entrances to the screen porch located?
A:The great room has a vaulted ceiling and the kitchen has a flat ceiling. The dotted line represents the change in ceiling height. The square is a post that holds the beam that holds the great room ceiling/roof. There are sliding glass doors on either side of the fireplace that access the screen porch and there is a hinged screen door between the front deck and the screen porch.
