Q:What is shown in the truss plan? Do I still have to go to the truss manufacturer? Is there a turnaround time for the truss plan? If there is a delay on the CAD and truss plan, can I get the regular plans before the truss plans are ready? Is this plan 2x4 walls?
A:Hey, I will try to answer your questions.
The truss plan does have a detail sheet showing the trusses but ultimately you will hire a truss manufacturer that will design, manufacture and deliver your trusses to the site. One of the big differences in ordering a truss plan will be the foundation plan, we design the foundation different with a truss plan since the load bearing walls change. If you are going to build with a truss roof system it is advantageous to order the truss plan just for the fact that the foundation will be different. A lot of the time we already have the truss plan designed so there is not lag in delivering the plan. If you let me know what kind of foundation you are going to use I can tell you if there will be any delay. We do design our wall system with 2X4’s. If you need something different we can do that to.
