Garlinghouse Traditional Ranch House Plan 20154 with 1,420 Sq Ft, 3 Bedrooms, Vaulted Living Room, Deck and 2-Car Garage
From the legendary Garlinghouse Collection, House Plan 20154 demonstrates how much architectural personality and comfortable family living can fit into an efficient 1,420-square-foot Ranch home. This one-story Traditional House Plan features 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, an attached 2-car garage, basement foundation, fireplace, dramatic ceilings, skylight, and rear deck. Distinctive half-round windows and decorative siding give the exterior memorable curb appeal, while the thoughtfully arranged interior makes this enduring American classic an excellent choice for families, couples, and homeowners seeking manageable single-level living.
The exterior immediately separates House Plan 20154 from an ordinary Ranch. Half-round windows introduce graceful architectural curves, while decorative shingles and siding add texture and visual interest to the façade. Traditional proportions and a broad one-story profile preserve the relaxed character associated with Ranch architecture, creating a home that can feel equally appropriate in an established neighborhood, suburban community, or scenic country setting.
Step inside and the foyer creates an unexpectedly dramatic welcome with high ceilings that make the entrance feel larger and more impressive. That sense of volume continues into the living room, where sloped ceilings elevate the space beyond what its efficient footprint might suggest. A large fireplace becomes the natural centerpiece, providing warmth and atmosphere for family evenings, conversations with friends, and holiday gatherings.
The kitchen and dining area embrace a more open arrangement, allowing cooking and mealtime to become part of the same everyday experience. A bow window introduces additional natural light and creates architectural interest, while a decorative ceiling gives the dining area its own identity without separating it from the kitchen. The result is a comfortable gathering space that works for quick breakfasts, family dinners, and casual entertaining.
Outdoor living is only steps away. Direct access from the dining area leads onto the rear deck, allowing meals and gatherings to move outside when the weather is beautiful. Add a grill, dining table, or comfortable seating and the deck becomes a natural extension of the home's living space for weekend cookouts, morning coffee, or relaxed evenings overlooking the backyard.
The owner's suite creates a private retreat with an ornamental ceiling that brings architectural detail into the bedroom. A large walk-in closet provides valuable storage, while the private bath adds everyday convenience. Two secondary bedrooms accommodate children, guests, or flexible uses such as a home office or hobby room. Their shared bathroom is anything but ordinary, with a skylight bringing natural light from above and a plant shelf adding another distinctive design detail.
The attached 2-car garage provides protected parking plus useful space for tools, bicycles, lawn equipment, and household storage. A basement foundation adds another important dimension, providing valuable unfinished area beneath the home for storage and other possibilities depending on site conditions and local building requirements.
As part of the Garlinghouse Collection, House Plan 20154 represents more than a century of thoughtful American residential architecture. Founded by L.F. Garlinghouse in Topeka, Kansas, the company helped generations of families build professionally designed homes with practical, builder-ready plans. This enduring Ranch shows why the best designs remain relevant: intelligent floor plans, architectural character, natural light, and exceptional livability never go out of style.

They will show you the relationship and dimensions of rooms, closets and traffic patterns. The schematic of the electrical layout may be included in the plan.
