Rustic Craftsman Style House Plan with Open Living Area and Porch Fireplace
Rustic Craftsman House Plan 65877 has 2,495 square feet of heated living space, 3 bedrooms, and 2.5 bathrooms. This architectural design offers an open floor plan, split bedroom design, and private master suite. Great outdoor living space includes a covered front porch and a back porch with outdoor fireplace and a built-in grill for entertaining. The second level is composed of a massive bonus room over the large three car, angled garage.
Rustic Craftsman House Plan with Curb Appeal
Buyers will love this home because of its unique curb appeal. This is not a cookie-cutter home. Let me explain why. Instead of a plain exterior, Rustic Craftsman House Plan 65877 is bursting with detail. Firstly, the siding is a combination of stone and cedar shake. Secondly, multi-colored roof shingles give the home a weathered appearance. Thirdly, doghouse dormers and board and batten shutters lend storybook appeal.
The front porch is big enough to place two rocking chairs. Sit here and drink lemonade as you watch the world go by. Walk around to the back of the house, and the view is even better. Imagine sitting poolside on your beautiful stone patio. When it comes time to entertain, gather around the table on your covered back porch. There is plenty of room because it measures 18'2 wide by 11'2 deep. Also, your grilling patio is just a step away, and it includes an outdoor fireplace.
Open Floor Plan and Luxury Master Suite
What is a split bedroom design? I'm glad you asked. The children's bedrooms in Rustic Craftsman House Plan 65877 are located on the opposite end of the house from the master suite. Mom and Dad appreciate this arrangement because they have more privacy. For example, when the kids are extra-rowdy, the parents can get away for more quiet. The children share a Jack and Jill bathroom, and each bedroom has a walk-in closet. The master suite has a sitting area, double vanity, shower, separate tub, and huge walk-in closet.
Living space is wide open, and traffic flows freely even when you have a full house. We love the see-through fireplace between the dining room and the family room. The L-shaped kitchen revolves around a big island. Use the island for meal preparation, and serve snacks here after a busy school day. Informal meals will be enjoyed in the nook. Notice that windows across the back of the living space admit lots of natural light.

A: Its is 3’-8” x 3’-8”clear inside.
A: 11’-6” to the peak.
A: It does not. That wall is an additional 8’ long.
A: Masonry is easy to change as you will need to specify what type and where on the house you want it anyway. We call for a mixture of vertical siding and cedar shakes. The walkout basement is masonry all the way up to the first level.
A: 8’-0”
A: My data from Chevy online shows a Tahoe is 204” in length or 17’-0”. We have 18’ clear from the overhead door to the wheel stop and another 3’-5” beyond that to the wall on the smaller bay. The other two bays are 2’ deeper.
A: 3'-8" x 3'-8" clear inside.
A: 3’-8”
A: I don’t see the materials being used to be a big cost difference other than the metal roof used in the 65871. The size difference may make a difference though from 2595 SF to 2106 SF (htd).
A: It is possible. Might need to push the front of the dining forward a bit though.
A: That’s going to be tight. The critical dimension is the width, which needs to be a minimum of 101’-7”. I come up with slightly more than .3 acres if you figure a 25’ front and rear setback. That’s assuming a perfectly rectangular lot.
A: That wall is load bearing but could be replaced with a beam making it possible to extend that space into the bedroom.
A: Bonus Room slopes down to 5’ side walls. Vaulting the ceiling in the family would be easy to do in the field with your builder.
A: No 2 car version available. Would have to be modified. Ceilings: Family – 11’ stepped to 12’ Kitchen, Nook, Foyer - 11’ Dining - 11’ stepped to 12’ Study – 8’ stepped to 10’ Master – vaulted 9’ to 12’-6” Master bath and WIC – 9’ Bedroom 2 & 3 – 9’ Bonus – 8’ Utility – 8’
A: Yes same price as basement. Specify when ordering.
A: If you drop the floor a foot via 2 steps down into the garage, it is possible to do that and not encroach on the bonus room above it.
A: None yet.
A: Both start at 11’ and step up to 12’
A: Yes and yes.
A: A/C and heating almost always go in the attic. Water heater can go up there as well with a fiberglass pan underneath it (for leaks) or you can create a small closet for it in the garage.
A: The basement just follows the perimeter of the exterior walls(not including porches).
A: I would not follow the roof line anyway - too steep. I usually recommend a 6:12 pitch on the interior.
A: Unfortunately not yet.
A: Yes you can! Please click the "Modifications" tab above to get more information.
A: The national average for a house is running right at $125.00 per SF. You can get more detailed information by clicking the Cost-To-Build tab above. Sorry, but we cannot give cost estimates for garage, multifamily or project plans.
