Q: Thanks for the reply concerning plan #48195 about raising the roofline on the rear 3rd floor parlor. Still looking for a room or space for me to consider for placing maximum 16 foot organ pipes in this home. Any ideas? How tall is the ceiling in the "family room"? (although I don't really care for that location) I also notice that the maximum ridge height is 42 feet, and the first floor has 10 foot ceilings, etc. I don't know other measurements, but guessing, I was wondering, if in the top of the octagon staircase area on the 3rd floor, if you opened the ceiling all the way to the roofline, what clearence would remain. It appears to me from the 3rd floor plans, that it shows that the top most ridge is a flat space, not comming to a point. It is not discernable from the outside picture of the house. This would be great if this space could be boxed in and finished, providing an appropriate and beautiful space for the organ pipes to culminate. Is this a possibility, or just another "pipe dream" of mine? Thanks in advance......Mike
A: All that octogon shape is already boxed in the truss at 10'-0" heigt , we can make it higher. We will probably have to make the flat roof higher than 42' but not that much. The familly room ceiling is 14'-6" high.
