Q:With basement foundation, does the garage get pushed forward? What are the dimensions of the house? What would it cost to push the back of the house out to match the back wall of bedroom 2?
A:Hello, The footprint of the garage and house is the same regardless of which foundation type is selected. Clients who choose the slab or crawlspace foundation get a 28' deep garage. Clients who choose the basement option lose four feet of depth, and get approx. 24' depth in the garage. The exterior wont change due to basement stairs. It is possible to extend the garage, to maintain the original 28' depth, if you wish.
If the only change is to extend the rear of the house out to align with the rear wall of bed 2, the cost to modify the plan would be $425 in addition to the purchase of the plan package. If you wish to also extend the depth of the garage, the cost would change to $495 in addition to the plan package. Allow 3 to 5 working days for preliminary plans, and another 5 to 8 working days for final plans.
