Plan Description

Super Energy Saving Guest House

This one bedroom cottage is ideal for use as a guest house, vacation cabin or for aging parents. The front porch is a full 8 foot deep and can accommodate rocking chairs and porch swings. Enter the front door and you will be amazed at the space. The living area is large enough for a full size furniture arrangement. The kitchen is compact but contains an abundance of work space. There is a floor to ceiling pantry and a moveable island. The master suite has two walk-in closets, one of which is huge. A full size bath is accessible from the bedroom or the hall. This plan includes an abundance of energy efficient features, such as 2x6 walls, that cost no more to build but saves approximately 50% of heating and cooling cost. The simple rectangular shape adds to the cost efficiency but it does not distract from the very attractive historical exterior styling.
