Q:What is the size of the dining room built in?
A:Hello, The dining room built in cabinet is 4'-4" wide by 2' deep.
Q:We like this plan, however after viewing quite a few others we wondered why the bonus space above the garage was so small in comparison? We plan on using this for granddaughters bedroom and didn’t want the added expense of having a modification.
A:Hello, The size of the bonus room given online does not include the closet, or bathroom. The closet is 2'-6"x7'-6", and the bathroom is 8'-2"x7'-6". These sizes do not include the thickness of any stud walls.
Added together, the bonus room, closet, and bathroom is 13'-2"x24'-10" deep. This is normal sized for a bonus room above a garage. Notice that the left and right side walls are 5'-0" tall, with sloped ceilings on two sides. This is common for bonus rooms over the garage.
It is possible to move the closet across from the bath, into the sloped ceiling area where the attic access door is now located. This would expand the bonus room depth by 2'-10", making it 13'-2"x16'-4".
Your builder could easily make that change onsite.
