Ski Mountain Chalet House Plan With Big Sundeck
Ski Mountain Chalet House Plan 76407 has several features that appeal to various members of the family. Firstly, for the one who loves the outdoors: the deck draws you outside. That's right, you can't resist lounging on this spacious deck whether it's for morning coffee or afternoon barbecue. Soak up the sunshine or follow the shade around the house because the deck wraps around three sides.
Secondly, for the one who loves wilderness adventures: the walkout basement has room for your equipment. Store your kayaks and skis in the walkout basement. No matter what time of year, your gear can be safely accessed for fun and then stored away safely. The basement ceiling height is approximately 8' tall, and the area is 893 square feet with no room divisions. You can leave the area open and unfinished, or you can turn it into living space.
Great Vacation Home Plan
Thirdly, for the one who values family vacations: Ski Mountain Chalet House Plan 76407 is perfect for weekend getaways. While modest in square footage, everything you need for comfort is included. For example, the L-shaped kitchen has an island with enough seating for 6 people. No extra dining table is required. The living space is open, and the double-sided fireplace creates defined spaces. Washer and dryer closet is located on the main floor, plus a full bathroom.
Three bedrooms are included, and one is on the main floor. It includes a good-sized closet. Heading upstairs, the last two bedrooms share a bathroom with a shower. We love how this top level has a loft that looks down into the main floor living space and has a view through those tall windows.

Previous Q & A
Q:Does this plan include a material list and window schedule? Thanks JIm
A:Hello Jim.
This plan has a materials list for only 275$. The PDF version will be sent to you in 10 business days once your order has been placed.
We don’t include window schedules with our plan; all the rough openings are clearly specified and locations on our floor plans.
Thank you for your questions and hope my answers are satisfactory.
Q:Is the walkout basement drawn with block?
A:The foundation is poured concrete
Q:Are the window sizes included?
A:The window sizes are included in the plan directly but there are no window or door schedules
Q:Does the walkout basement have cross footings under it? We need a 42 inch frost footing? Is that included in the design?
A:Yes, our foundations always have a footing at a minimum of 4’-6’’ of ground level
Q:Does this plan have a third floor?
A:Hi!
This plan comes with an unfinished walkout basement, a main level and second level
Hope this helps!
Q:Need to know height from ground level to ridge if NOT a walkout basement. Thanks.
A:Hi!
Sorry but we don’t have this information seeing as the plan has never been in only basement foundation
Thanks!
Jessica
Q:Please tell me the R value of the ceiling insulation.
A:The insulation for the ceiling is R-40
Q:Need to see schematic of trusses to see if the amount of insulation they can take will meet the IRC building codes here in New England.
A:Hi there!
I cannot send this but I can confirm that our plans meet the ICR 2012
Thanks!
Jessica
Q:On plan 76407, what is the size of the house exclusive of the decks? I am looking for similar design at 24 x 28 to 32. Thanks, John
A:Hey there!
The dimensions of this house do not include the decks/porches
Thanks!
Jessica
Q:What is the ceiling height of the basement
A:Hi there!
The basement is approx 8’-0’’
Thanks!
Jessica
Q:What do your plans cover in the way of foundation. Where I am constructing it will need to be elevated for snow and will be on pier foundation. What is the wall thickness and R value?
A:Hi there,
For this plan, the foundation is a walkout basement so the pier foundation would have to be done via mods
The exterior walls are in 2x6 and the R value for the mis R-24
Thanks!
Jessica
Q:What is the height from the walk out basement to the top of the roof? My HOA states the house can’t exceed 2.5 stories and 35 feet.,
A:Good morning,
It is 39’-6’’ from the highest point to the ground level of the walkout foundation
Thanks!
Q:Could you provide me with the overall dimensions of the home excluding the deck?
A:Good morning,
For this house you can add the deck that is 36’ x 10’
Thanks!
Q:Is the bill of materials for this plan a pdf format or spreadsheet format?
A:Good morning,
The material list is sent in .pdf format
Thanks!
Jessica
Q:Do you happen to have any actual interior photos of this house I could see ?
A:Good morning,
Actually no, we unfortunately have no interior photos for this house plan.
Regards,
Jessica
Q:what are the dimensions of the walk out basement? There wasn't a floor plan for it on this site.
A:Hi!
The basement is the same dimension as the main floor but with no divisions.
The square footage is 893 square feet.
Jessica
Q:Were are the hot water heater and furnace/AC supposed to be located in this plan?
A:Good morning,
The hot water heater is located in the basement.
For the furnace and AC, the customer will need to decide where they want it but it can quite easily be planned in the basement.
Jessica
Q:So can you tell me if the trusses are in sections to be assembled at the site, or if it one unit. if so it seems they would be difficult to transport. I am in preliminary stages of budget prep and to be able to get a ballpark quote from a truss manufacturer would be ideal. there is nothing you can provide?
A:Hello,
Here is the answers for this customer :
The trusses in this particular case comes in 2 separate sections with a beam to attach the 2.
However, it is better if he checks in locally with a truss manufacturer.
The truss diagrams we provide are only shown for schematic purpose. It is the manufacturer’s responsibility to design and conceive the trusses to meet and comply local and code regulation.
Thank you
Kim
Q:Hello: If I were to purchase the bill of materials for the plan, would it include enough detail on the trusses so as to get a price quote from a local truss manufacturer? Also, are they build as one unit, or are they in sections to be assembled at the site?
A:Good day,
Unfortunately the truss information is on the plan only and it’s with the plan that the truss manufacturer can quote.
We specialize in house plans only and therefore there is no assemble for our plans.
Thanks
Jessica
Q:Can you tell me what the wind load calculation is for this plan, and the height from the lowest point of a walk out basement to the peak of the roof (or perhaps the fireplace chimney)?
A:Hello,
Our plans do not include wind load calculation, this would have to be checked into locally with an engineer.
Here are the measurements requested :
Top of ridge to walkout foundation(lowest point): 38’-10’’
Top of ridge to finish grade : 39’-6’’
Top of chimney to walkout foundation : 41’-10’’
Top of chimney to finish grade : 42’-6’’
Q:I understand that he ceiling on the second floor is 8’-0’’ and starts sloping where the dotted lines are, but I want to make sure I have good understanding of the plan. So, if the dotted line represents the start of the slope, how tall is the wall that the beds are up against?
A:Good morning!
The lowest height of the sloped ceiling is approximately 4’-6’’
I hope this helps!
Jessica
Q:Do you know what the roof snow load calculation on this plan would be?
A:Good morning!
The snow load for this plan is 75 pounds per square ft.
Hope this helps!
Jessica
Q:What is the exterior pitch of the roof, and what is the interior pitch? I am assuming the trusses are some type scissor truss?
thanks
Mark
A:Good day,
The roof pitch for this plan is 14/12.
The trusses are manufactured trusses.
Hope this helps!
Jessica
Q:Thanks for the response, however I don’t believe that is correct. The “roof type” in the description says “unknown”. It clearly is not a truss. It is some type of “open beam” construction, using large beams, either glue lam of solid wood with an unknown type of insulation on top of likely 2x6 T&G ceiling boards. Can you see if you can get the details as it makes a big difference in construction costs. Thank you, Doug Bishop
A:Good day,
The exterior beams are decorative only but the roof is really manufactured trusses.
Jessica
Q:What is the roof construction type?
A:Hello,
Our roof structures are manufactured trusses.
I hope this helps!
Jessica
Q:What are the room ceiling heights of this house plan
A:Hi,
The ceiling height on the first level is 8’-0’’except the cathedral part in the kitchen, dining room and living room that is ±25’-7’’
The second level is 8’-0’’
Regards.
